GamblersTelevision.comIf it's Cinco de Mayo weekend than we can expect a fight involving the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya. He takes on Steve Forbes on HBO on Saturday with the goal to impress viewers into paying PPV dollars to see a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September. Floyd Mayweather Sr returns as Oscar's trainer for this fight and Sr used to train Forbes. Forbes is now trained by Sr.'s younger brother Jeff Mayweather. That's boxing! Steve Forbes was a runner up on the contender series and we saw a contender fighter get outclassed recently as Alfonso Gomez was thoroughly outclassed by Miguel Cotto earlier in the month. Steve Forbes lost a fight to Grady Brewer in the finals of the Contender series at Staples Center 18 months ago. At the time Brewer worked at a Goodyear factory in Lawton Oklahoma. Forbes has never fought a fighter near this class range in De La Hoya. Oscar needs to make short work of this fighter and look dominating to better sell his rematch against Floyd Jr. Even though Forbes may possess a scientific and defensive style he is thoroughly outclassed in this fight. Look for an early stoppage. This fight goes UNDER baby and under 10 ½ rounds at +250 if a gift.
