Jockey Edgar Prado rode 3 winners aboard 3 different horses during the Kentucky Derby Prep races. Prado had to chose 1 for his mount in the Kentucky Derby. Prado had to choose from Wood Memorial winner Tale of Ekati, Blue Grass Stakes winner Monba or Lanes End winner Adriano. After a workout over Churchill downs a few weeks back Prado made up his mind and Adriano was his horse. And how can you blame him when you look at his breeding. This horse is bred for the 1 mile and a quarter distance. Adriano is an AP Indy horse out of Gold Canyon who's daddy is Mr. Prospector. I have looked at Adriano's workouts over Churchill Downs and this colt took well to the track and should run a big one on Saturday. Colonel John was super impressive in the Santa Anita Derby with a strong kick in the stretch to win by a half-length. In 6 lifetime starts Colonel John has 4 wins and 2 seconds. You wont find Pyro nor Big Brown on any of my tickets. I didn't like the form of Pyro in last race running a distance last in the Blue Grass. I understand that race was over the synthetic surface but you can make excuses for running 5 or 6th but not last.
