The Mens Basketball Competition has reached the Medal Round of 8 and Team China will face off with Team Lithuania with Lithuania a 10-point favorite. The stakes are higher in the medal round as you must win to advance and a loss means your Olympic tournament is over. Lithuania was the winner of group A play with a 4-1 record and didn’t exert much in their final game losing big to Australia with nothing to play for. Lithuania has plenty of depth as the team uses much of it’s roster. The one thing I have seen from China is that they start fast and fade in games due to fatigue. When China hits their three’s they can compete with the top teams in the World but if they aren’t falling it’s an uphill battle. China is only shooting 42% from the field in the Olympic Games. Linas Kleiza is hitting on 54% of his shots and Team Lithuania 4 players shooting 47% or higher from the three point line. Lithuania will continue to move the ball and shoot well against the slower footed China guards here. Yao Ming wont be a factor against this hot shooting team. Take Lithuania –10.
