We are less than 10 days away from the start of College Football and the Associated Press has released their Preseason Top 25 poll.

The Georgia Bulldogs will open the season as the #1 ranked team from the AP poll. Georgia received 22 first place votes from the 65 media members which was 1 more first place vote ahead of the # 2 team the Ohio St Buckeyes. The USC Trojans sit at #3 followed by the Oklahoma Sooners and Florida Gators. Georgia closed out their 2007 campaign with 7 straight wins culminating in an impressive 41-10 route of Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. Georgia returns 16 starters from last year’s team and are led offensively by starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno.

Georgia will have a tough September as they must travel to South Carolina in week 3 and then they must face Arizona St on September 20th in Tempe. An early matchup that is highly anticipated is in week 3 of the college football season. On September 13th a meeting between the AP’s preseason #2 and #3 teams as Ohio St will visit USC.

Oddsmakers have USC favored to win the BCS Championship Game at 3 ½ to 1 with Ohio St, Florida and Oklahoma tied as the second favorite at 5 to 1. Preseason #1 Georgia is the 5th choice by the oddsmakers at 7 to 1.
