This is a rematch of Pool B play as the Americans pounded Spain 119-82 hitting on 58% of their shots and allowing Spain only 39% shooting from the field. We all know that Pau Gasol is not a very good defensive player and his brother Marc Gasol looks a step slow on the court and is not NBA material in my opinion. Spain played zone against the US and Team USA got good looks from the three-point line and shot 12-25 in routing the Spanish. The United States also forced 28 turnovers had 16 steals and held a 32-0 advantage in fast break points. The Spanish guards have not shot well in this tournament. This is where Team USA wanted to be and that’s in the Gold Medal Game. The players gave up much of their summer vacations over past few years for a shot at the Gold Medal. USA wins handily.
