The Crimson Tide struggled down the stretch losing their last 4 regular season games including a horrible loss to Louisiana Monroe. Alabama is young and has 10 freshmen that could see significant action in this game including two of them in the wide receiver position. You also have to factor in the dome as many of these young freshmen probably never played a football game inside a dome. Clemson has the experience with 9 seniors and quarterback Cullen Harper who is being regarded as an NFL prospect. Harper passed for just under 3000 yards last season. The team also returns 7 starters on defense and one of the nations best secondaries. Behind quarterback Harper is senior running back James Davis who rushed for over 1000 yards and back C.J. Spiller who rushed for 768 yards. There are 2 seniors starting at wide receiver led by 6’5” Aaron Kelly who caught 88 passes for over 1000 yards and 11 TD’s. Tyler Grisham contributed with 60 catches for 653 yards. Clemson is getting Alabama at the right time here, as the Tide will improve off this effort and experience.
